Reggae artiste Keznamdi has made it onto the roster for the Bongo Reggae Festival in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania, on December 23.

The concert, which will play a part of Dar es Salaam’s festive season celebrations, will also feature Yung Jr, son of the legendary Junior Reid, along with several African acts.

Keznamdi is no stranger to Tanzania, having lived there between ages 13-16, and is excited to return to a place he once called home.

“When I lived in Tanzania I was just in high school, so it’s an honour to return as an artiste to perform for some of the very same people who I went to school with and even for some of the very same teachers who taught me,“ said Keznamdi. “I am looking forward to bringing a good show there and reconnecting with my African brothers and sisters.”

Keznamdi will perform with his own band from Jamaica and return to the island on December 27, in time for his performance at Iba Mahr’s Sound Di Alarm Music Festival in Linstead on December 31.

The reggae chanter has had a banner year with performances on the Dread and Terrible West Coast Tour; UCLA Jazz Reggae Festival; Best of the Best Music Fest and Reggae Sumfest. He also scored a Billboard chart placement for his collaboration with Grammy nominee pop/edm artiste Zhu, on the track As Crazy As It Is,

and a number one spot on the iTunes Reggae Singles chart for his single Champion.
