If you’re from New Orleans and haven’t seen him perform live there, you may have to wait until late next year or even the next, because his final hometown show before he’s sentenced to prison already went down this week.

The rapper performed in his hometown of New Orleans on Monday (December 28) at the New Orleans Arena to thunderous applause.

It is expected to be his last before being sentenced on a gun charge in New York in February 2010, where he’s expected to get one year in prison.

On stage, he told his fans how much they meant to him, following a standing ovation. “I’m nothing without you,” he said, according to the Associated Press.

Weezy has been on the road promoting the latest release from his Young Money Entertainment label, We Are Young Money, a compilation of music from all the artists on his roster.

It kicked off in Texas in December, and still has a few stops left, including appearances in Arizona and Mississippi. But up next, Weezy and the Young Money crew will perform in San Diego on New Year’s Eve.

The tour hit a snag earlier this month when the rapper and his entourage were detained by U.S. Border Patrol agents in Texas. Authorities found marijuana on Lil Wayne’s tour bus, but he luckily wasn’t charged as was later released. The stop forced him to miss his Laredo, Texas show though.
