The two male finalists in the 2011 Magnum Kings and Queens of Dancehall, Specialist and Hurricane, squared off in the Old Capital yesterday.

Both rivals were in the town seeking support, but this venture soon transformed into a lyrical confrontation.

This spectacle drew scores of curious onlookers including schoolchildren.

The clash took place around 5:30 p.m., at the intersection of Burke Road and King Street.

The burly category five Hurricane dapperly dressed in white was the crowd favourite.

“Fifty dollar crab, fifty dollar crab, gwaan Hurricane, yu sound good,” a female selling crab chanted.

It was clear that the contestants were serious about campaigning just ahead of the grand finals tomorrow night.

The crowd that gathered was duly entertained by the finalists, who left Spanish Town with broad smiles on their faces as supporters gave money to their favourite ‘King’.
