It’s finally official. After much speculation whether Drake’s latest album VIEWS would in fact be able to maintain its explosive start, Billboard now reports that the project has earned 1.04 million equivalent album units in the week ending May 5 in the US alone. It also became the Canadian rapper’s sixth straight No.1 album after debuting at the top of the charts this week. Initially an Apple Music exclusive, VIEWS‘ tracks were streamed 245.1 million times during the tracking week, smashing the previous record held by Justin Bieber’s Purpose more than two-and-a-half times. The album will become available on all other streaming platforms starting May 13.
