After losing his United States visa last year, dancehall artiste Beenie Man can smile again because it has finally been restored.

Beenie Man was among a group, including Bounty Killer, Mavado, Aidonia and Ricky Trooper, who lost their US visa early last year.

Earlier this week, there were talks that the visa had been restored but this was confirmed yesterday.

“I am just thankful to the US Embassy for their renewed confidence in me, I have been granted a visitor’s visa, however, this is just the first step towards the ultimate objective of earning a US work permit so that I can realise my full earning potential and take care of my family,” Beenie Man said in a release yesterday.

Another press release sent by his US-based publicist said, “Mr Moses Davis, Beenie Man, thanks the United States Government, particularly the United States Consulate in Jamaica for their renewed confidence in him in the recent restoration of his United States visa privileges,” the release said.

It continued, “he also thanks his attorneys Professor David P. Rowe Esq and Rosemarie D. Robinson Esq for their professional assistance during this difficult time. Mr Davis re-affirms his commitment to decency and family values as integral aspects of Jamaican reggae music.”

interviews

Beenie Man joins fellow artiste Mavado, whose visa was restored earlier this month. Since then, he has done numerous interviews in the US and according to his manager, Julian Jones-Griffiths, “We have a lot of projects in the pipeline that we will announce in due course.”

Last week, Beenie Man gave a strong performance during Dancehall Night at Reggae Sumfest thrilling the 20,000-strong crowd with a steady stream of current hits such as Nuh Talk Too Long, and Inna Di Go Go Club, as well as established crowd-pleasers such as Memories, Wickedest Slam and Ole Dawg. He also invited social media sensation Clifton Brown on stage and together, they rocked the crowd with Nobody Canna Cross It.

The deejay will be partying the weekend away in Negril at the popular ATI parties and then he will head to Trinidad for a performance this Sunday.
