Black Judah returns to Jamaica

Black Judah will return to the island next month to perform on Ice Cream and Chocolate Fest which will be held on May 24th in Mandeville. The duo’s last trip to Jamaica was back in December 2008 when they did a number of cameo appearances on several events held during the Christmas season and gave an outstanding performance on the greatest one night Reggae show on earth, “STING 2008” of which they were billed.

The California base Reggae artistes are no stranger to the island as ‘Suga Blacks” is a Jamaican native who discovered his musical passion singing in his school choir as a child. Motivated and extremely talented, he became the youngest apprentice of the Black Star Sound System at age twelve and as he grew older, his career evolved and he began recording for Tony Rebel’s Flames Production (Garnett Silk, Jah Mason, Ras Shiloh) and released a series of legendary singles including the 1997 hit ‘Oh Jah.’

Black Judah became an item on the island after the release of the single ‘Mercy Please’ featuring Warrior King and from an extensive promotion which saw posters of them literally strung across the fourteen parishes. “Mercy Please” got steady radio rotation during summer last year and spent three consecutive weeks at #1 on the Jamaica Top 20 Reggae Countdown Chart. The follow-up single and video ‘Don’t Give Up’ hit number 1 for two (2) consecutive weeks on the CVM Hitlist and 3 out of 14 weeks in the same position on Susie Q’s Top 10 Video Alley Reggae Chart and is currently gaining momentum not only in Jamaica but around the world. Black Judah debut album, Roots World Order, will soon be released.
