Kingston, Jamaica (December 31, 2010) — Reggae artistes Romain Virgo and Chino McGregor have been making quite the impact on fans in Poland.

Romain who earlier this week returned from a one month European tour, was voted as the best new talent in Reggae for 2010 by Polish Radio Czworka (Polish Radio 4) listeners. The radio station which is located in Warsaw, Poland, and broadcasts sports, educational programs and music to its listening market.

Romain says, “That was surprising to hear; I’m really happy about that. The European tour exposed me to a wide range of people, not just areas populated by Caribbean persons, because that’s rare. So I got to really showcase my talent and they loved it.”

After returning to Jamaica, Romain immediately hit the stage and appeared on GT Taylor’s Christmas Extravaganza, Claro Pepsi Teen Splash and Sting. Romain says, “Coming back home and performing for those at home felt good. They were responsive to the old and new material, so give thanks for that and the continuous support.”

Meanwhile, reggae/dancehall artiste, Chino McGregor, who will be releasing his US album in March 2011 already has a growing fan-base in the country and will be the station’s first reggae/dancehall interview for the new year. Tomorrow between 7-9 a.m. (Caribbean time), fans in Poland and other countries can tune in to Chino as he talks about his upcoming album and career plans.

“I just want to touch base with all my fans prior to the release of my album, which will be distributed in the US, Canada, Europe and the Caribbean. I want persons who are familiar with me to get more familiar, and for those who may not be so acquainted with my music to get to know not only my music, but also about me as the artiste,” says Chino.
