Dancehall superstar, Erup, born Kevin Saunders and known for mega hits such as “Click Mi Finger” and “Gal A Run Dem Head”, has returned to the music scene with his newest song titled “I’m Sorry”. Produced by Andre Villa from Onscope Records, “I’m Sorry” is an apologetic tribute on the Emotions Riddim compilation ‘Jamaica Meets Afrobeat’.
Released on August 23, “I’m Sorry” has since been gaining traction everywhere, putting Erup on the forefront of dancehall once again. The track, however, hears Erup’s unique vocals giving an authentic R&B vibe over this extraordinary afrobeat rhythm.
“I wrote that song for someone else to sing. They was on some foolishness so when I got the beat from Andre Villa I just sing it and it fit it perfectly,” said the Rockfort native.
R&B has always been a part of Erup’s nature as he goes on to state, “I’ve been writing these type of songs from mi young suh mi know exactly what to say on these songs because it’s based on real life relationships.”
Erup has also recently released an album called ‘Frequency’ on Friday, October 11 which includes 14 new songs such as “Weh We Do”, produced by Do Di Rite Thing Entertainment in collaboration with Villa’s Onscope Records. Promotion is in full swing, with the team gearing up to get Erup on a US tour soon.
