Konshens said he had to make the decision because of promotion work he has to do for an album done with his brother, Delus, called Modern Revolution, released by Irievibrations Records from Austria.

Both Konshens and Delus comprise Sojah Brothers.

He said he was making arrangements to leave Jamaica after his performance at Reggae Sumfest dancehall night on July 23. However, as a result of an agreement with his business partners in Europe, he will have to leave on the day of the event. He will return to Jamaica by mid August.

A very disturbed and almost angry Konshens said that his hands were tied and there was nothing he could do. He said it was not a ‘money issue’ but moreso his need to stand by his word.

“I gave them my word and it’s an issue involving both me and my brother Delus, so I can’t think selfishly though. It will do some harm to my solo career
but I apologise to anyone that was looking forward to seeing me there. Mi ago deh round fi a while so no worry unuh self,” Konshens told THE STAR.

He also said he thinks it is going to be one of the best Sumfests and regrets not being able to take part.

“Mi sorry mi ago miss Tony Braxton star, and mi know Tarrus (Riley) ago bun it up, especially wid di album about to drop, and it maad,” Konshens said.

He closed by extending apologies and thanking his growing fan base for the love
they have been showing him.

Nonetheless, Konshens said this album, which is the second by Sojah Brothers, is worth a listen. The duo’s first album, Sons of Jah, was released in Japan in 2006.

“Is a mixture. It sounds young and have a whole heap a message in it. It delivers old but with a young flavour. It has a bit of hip-hop but a lot of roots reggae, which Europeans love,” he said.
