The prestigious annual award ceremony is back this year and will once again seek to honor the outstanding contributions of dancehall and reggae artists alike in some 28 unique categories ranging from “Male Deejay Of The Year” to “Most Improved Artist Of The Year”. Accompanying Brown in the Female Vocalist Of The Year category this year are Cherine Anderson, Alaine, Phyllisia, Barbee, Tami Chin and Etana.

In response to her nomination Brown issued this statement to the press. “I truly welcome this nomination with open arms especially becuase 2009 was such a productive year for me. I release my debut album “The Spotlight” to the world and it sold over 5000 copies digitally within the first few months. Last year I also did a pair of music video and release other exclusive tracks that can be found on my upcoming album so overall I am happy with the EME organizers for considering my contributions”.

This years nomination marks Brown’s second official entry into the EME list after she was also included in the 2008 “Female Vocalist Of The Year” category.
