After being in the industry for about two-and-a-half years, one of dancehall’s biggest young stars, Chedda, believes it has been the quality of his work, and the people who put effort in his music, which has resulted in his rise to prominence.

Having scored a major hit in Germany with the single, Rifle, he is now focused on making his mark on the local dancehall scene.

His latest hit with QQ, Cleanest, has been creating a stir since its release with its high energy and infectious beat plus hard-hitting lyrics to match. The song has been enjoying airplay on Zip FM, among other stations. “We were at the Coppershot Studios while Mr Shaun was building a new beat and we liked it, mi jus start flow a melody, and words come, and QQ come wid a flow, and the song jus build,” said Chedda.

Having got more airplay in recent times, Chedda is thankful for the support. “Everyone is working well with the music I’ve been doing so far,” he said.

His latest mix tape, Curse A The Gifted, is a 21-track CD, produced by U.I.M. and various other producers. Chedda said, “It was good working on the mix tape. Throughout the different songs, a lot of people get to see a side of Chedda that they didn’t know.”

Future projects from Chedda include the video for Cleanest and more hits from new producers and more good music.

Chedda believes that through continued hardwork and determination he has the potential to become one of the biggest acts to come from Jamaica.
