Digicel Hails 2011 Youth View Awards A Huge Success

Digicel, Jamaica’s Bigger Better Network has hailed the 4th staging of the Youth View Awards a stellar success and congratulated the organizers for the energy around what was dubbed the Young, Hot and Hype Edition. In the meantime, Digicel’s Brand Ambassadors dominated the awards with, Tifa, Yendi, DJ Bambino and Ding Dong copping a total of nine awards. Certified Diva and hot dancehall sensation Tifa walked away with five awards.

Senior Sponsorship Manager at Digicel, Shelly-Ann Curran expressed delight at the outstanding performance of the company’s Brand Ambassadors at the awards ceremony. In an interview, Curran said, “We congratulate our brand ambassadors for their performance at the YVAs – Tifa, DJ Bambino, I-Octane, Yendi and Ding Dong. This is a testament to the rich talent and youthful vibrancy that Digicel embraces. We salute them for their hard work and tremendous impact on Jamaican youth, which have not gone unnoticed.”

Curran ended by reaffirming that the telecoms company will continue to invest in the development of youth and their talents. Expressed Shelly-Ann Curran: “Jamaica is blessed with an abundance of talented youth and as leaders in the market we will continue to provide support and highlight their outstanding performances. We will also continue to work closely with our brand ambassadors to empower of Jamaica’s youth.”

The brand ambassadors received the following awards:

1. Favourite Female Fashion Icon of the year – Tifa
2. Favourite Dancehall Female Artiste of the Year – Tifa
3. Young, Hot and Hype Female of the Year – Tifa
4. Favourite Female Artiste of the Year – Tifa
5. Best Collaboration Female Video of the Year – Tifa
6. Celebrity Role Model of the Year – Yendi Phillips
7. Young, Hot and Hype Male of the Year – Ding Dong
8. Favourite Male Dancer of the Year – Ding Dong
9. Favourite Media Personality – Bambino

Vybz Kartel was the master of the night at the Youth View Awards, copping a magnificent five awards including male Dancehall artiste of the year. He has taken the time out to share lens moment with Digicel’s senior sponsorship manager, Shelly-Ann Curran.

The hosts for the YVA’s DJ Bambino and Rosci Diaz from BET 106 were among the many gems at Saturday night’s award ceremony. Here they took the time out to pose for the cameras with the red-hot Digicel Fashion Police.

Digicel marketing team made bold fashion statements at the awards getting several heads turned as they passed by. LEFT: Digicel is known for its swag among the youth market and always delivering the best experience. This delivered on that promise to their YVA VIP Experience winner Francine Ricketts has she was chauffeured to the awards ceremony in celebrity-style in a sparkling white Limousine.
