Jermaine Dupri has reportedly been terminated from his post as President of Island Records Urban Music division, a position he’s held for nearly two years.

According to what a source tells AllHipHop.com, Dupri’s post has been relieved from his post, effective immediately.

The Island Records Urban Division was created under the Island Def Jam umbrella early last year, shortly before Dupri was hired on. As the division’s president, he was responsible for overseeing the divisions operations, reporting only to the label’s chairman L.A. Reid, and its President Steve Bartells.

In April 2008, Dupri announced the formation of TAG Records, a venture between Island and Procter & Gamble’s TAG brand, which Dupri would head. The label’s flagship artist was Q, who would be cross-promoted via TAG’s body spray line through print, television, radio, and digital advertising.

At press time, it was unclear if Dupri’s departure from Island Records would effect his TAG Records venture.
