Marco Polo was the party of the summer. How could one disagree? The Lime Golf academy in New Kingston, came alive on August 28th with the 3rd Staging of Marco Polo.
From as early as 11 pm, patrons were outside the venue waiting for gates to be open to what many see as the most anticipated water event on the party calender. After seeing close to 10,000 patrons strong having a whale of a time Marco Polo is here to stay.
The promoters of this event found the winning formula, one their patrons are loving. So much so, the promoters have decided to have this massive event once more for the year, and at a new venue.
“Wow, the last staging of Marco Polo was unbelievable. We expected the event to be a great success, but that went up two-folds and we are sincerely appreciative of the support we have received on this event, when the patrons requested we do it again, we couldn’t tell them no,” Fabian O’Hara of Vice-President of the group pointed out.
Marco Polo has outgrown their original home and have made a move to a much larger venue.
“Looking back at August 28 we realised that Lime Golf Academy could no longer facilitate the Marco Polo following and as such we decided to move to the National Stadium car park, which is much larger and gives us an avenue to do more.” said Marvin Lawrence, CEO of the group.
Adding: “We made some changes for this event, implementing 2 food and drink inclusive vip sections, one for persons wanting to get wet and a dry section as well.
For group PR Exec. Sherilla Gordon, the move is a welcomed one based on feedback on she has been getting.
“Persons have been giving us some favourable responses towards the venue change. Its a central venue that everyone is familiar with, cause everybody goes to Boys and Girls Champs, so the event is set to do really well, the buzz surrounding the event is great, ticket requests are coming in in numbers,” said Gordon.
“The social network right now has been contributing greatly to the buzz, with persons sending out random Marco polo broadcasts on Blackberry, Twitter and Facebook is jumping with excitement and the colleges especially are looking forward to this staging,” Said Lance Craig the newest addition to the group.
The line up for this staging includes ZJ Chrome, Zj Ice, Dj Cyrus, Urban Legends, Tony Matterhorn and Titan VCD from Trinidad. Along with the stellar Dj line up, The Vip areas and the new venue, Marco Polo will also feature the worlds largest water slide.
The National Stadium car park is the place to be on Heroes Sunday, October 16th.
