Kingston, Jamaica: Digicel Jamaica’s Bigger, Better Network has added a new member to its list of Brand Ambassadors – Miss Universe 2010-First Runner Up, Yendi Phillips. The announcement was made at the telecommunications company’s Grenada Way Head Office in New Kingston during to presentation to Yendi.
Yendi joins an already exciting line up of some of Jamaica’s most talented and loved artistes like Gospel artiste Jermaine Edwards, Disc Jockey and artiste Bambino, Certified Diva Tifa, Digicel Rising Star 2010 winner Dalton Harris, Sprint queen Shelly-Ann Fraser, fastest man in the world and Sprint champion, Usain Bolt and reggae dancehall artiste I-Octane.
“I have been associated with the Digicel family for over two years and I’m happy to be a part of such a successful organization. I think that Digicel is testament to having a vision and implementing your vision, which is similar to my life’s mantra. I am proud to be officially named a brand ambassador.” stated a beaming Phillips.
Phillips is the winner of the Miss Jamaica World 2007 beauty pageant, as well as the 2010 Miss Jamaica Universe pageant. She became the first contestant in history to make it to the finals of all the fast track events at Miss World 2007. She has represented Jamaica at the Miss Universe 2010 pageant in Las Vegas on August 23, 2010 where she scored the highest in swimsuit and was second place in evening gown then entering the final question round in second place with a score of 8.884. She became the first runner up behind Mexico.

Yendi is no stranger to the Digicel family having hosted Digicel Rising Stars for the 2008/2009 season and today we are happy to sign her to our family as a brand ambassador and welcome her to Jamaica’s Bigger, Better Network”.
Editors Note: New for Yendi is The Yendi Phillips Foundation that will be launched in 2011.The Foundation is geared at empowering people with knowledge and at the moment, the two main focus areas of the Foundation will be illness research and early childhood education.
