DANCER turned recording artiste Kemar Ottey, more popularly known as Ding Dong, is set to collaborate with reggae/pop singer Sean Kingston. Recently on the set of the video shoot for his latest single Letting Go (Dutty Dutty) which featured female rapper Nicki Minaj, Kingston spoke glowingly about his affiliation with the Nannyville-based entertainer.

“Ding Dong is my favourite artiste right now. Him have the style, the swag and the image. Him have everything weh can make him into a major star. He just does feel-good music,” Kingston said.

Ding Dong who shot onto the musical radar in 2006 with a guest shot on Voice Mail’s hit single Ready to Party, later topped the charts with his debut solo hit Bad Man Forward Bad Man Pull Up.

Ding Dong’s fortunes would further increase in 2009 when the inescapable party anthem Holiday ran unchecked topping several charts locally, stateside and across the Caribbean.

His most recent hits include Responsible Parents and Party Cup.

Asked what his plans for Ding Dong included, Kingston said, “What I could do for somebody like Ding Dong is ridiculous. Most of the artistes in Jamaica have reached out to me and want me to sign them. But I think that Ding Dong is special. It’s a pleasure to do some work with him.”

Kingston added, “The first thing is to do a big single with him. We did a song called My Girl but some politics happened with that record.”

Kingston’s Time is Money label scored big earlier this year with Virgin Islands native Iyaz whose single Replay topped the Billboard Pop Songs chart for three weeks.
