With less than a month to go before the highly anticipated start of the annual Reggae Sumfest Festival organizers have added the fast-rising, EME-nominated reggae vocalist Sophia Brown to the already impressive lineup of artists.

Brown who will be making her Sumfest debut states that while she has always attended the event this time will definitely be special. “I have been attending Reggae Sumfest since its first installment as a patron i only miss one year which was 2006 so I’m really happy to be attending this year as a performer”.

Since the start of the year Brown has been dominating radio airwaves with a number of chart-topping singles including “Weak To You”, “Gimmie That Good Love” and more recently “Let It Be Me” on the new one drop riddim from Cash Flow Records. Still making the most of her distribution deal with international label Universal Records Brown is feeling good about her progress this year. “Well, so far I can’t complain I have a few new songs I’m promoting and some other projects working on. I also have the Little Ochi Sea Food Festival coming up on July 11th so I will no doubt be busy for the rest of the summer”.

Slated for July 17-24th the week-long Reggae Sumfest Festival will feature performances from international R&B superstars Usher and Chris Brown while locally patrons can expect the likes of Shaggy, Beenie Man, Vybz Kartel, Mavado, Bounty Killer, Gramps Morgan, Etana, Tarrus Riley, Elephant Man, Voicemail, Assassin, I Octane, Koshens, Kiprich, Stacious, Tifa, Khago, Queen Ifrica, Ding Dong, Demarco, Proteje, Chino, Taz, Chris Martin and “My Cupp” singer Richie Loops.
