> Now, as the fallen rap star sits in an Arizona jail awaiting sentencing, he’s finally granted an interview to discuss his current predicament.

In an interview with Arizona’s Fox 10 news station, the rapper said he vows to never return to Arizona after being released from a 90-day sentence.

“I’m not looking back,” X told Fox 10 cameras. “I’m not coming back. I’m not coming back for a show. I’m not coming back for a visit. I’m not even driving through the state. If I’m on a plane and they’re flying over it, I’m gonna go around.”

The rapper explained that one day, after a night in the studio, he watched the sun rise in Arizona. At that moment, X believed that the state was “God’s Country.” However, along the way, things took a turn for the worse.

“I met the devil in God’s country,” X said. “It’s not so much who [was the devil], it’s what happens and the things that the devil does. It’s not so much a person, even though he acts through people. You can’t call any one person the devil. Because no one person has the power to be the devil.”

While coming face to face with the devil would be one of the worst experiences for some, the rapper saw it as a wake up sign and an opportunity for God to help him through the rough journey.

“It’s through all these hardships that I realized ‘You know what? This is God’s country because I met the devil here,’ ” said X. “Because if I hadn’t met the devil here, I wouldn’t have realized I was strong enough to overcome the obstacles that the devil would place in my path. It’s by overcoming these obstacles that I realized that this is God’s country because he helped me get over these obstacles. He helped me get over these hurdles.”

While DMX didn’t admit to doing anything that would warrant a jail stint, he said the situation has helped him discover his true calling… “It’s gotta me closer to my true calling on life, to realizing… to actualizing my true calling on life, which is to be a pastor,” said X.

The rapper revealed that the long-talked-about gospel album he was to release through indie label Bodog is completed, and that he plans to move on his ambition to become a pastor, once released. He believes he’s in jail because God wants him to help someone.

“I came here to meet somebody,” the rapper said. “I don’t know who it is, but I came to tell them that Jesus loves them. To tell them about the glory of God.”

According to the rapper, he is also planning to star in a reality show called “Pain & Perseverance,” that he’s making while incarcerated.

Later on during the interview, the rapper got teary eyed when he discussed his time away from his kids — he has eight — and what his time away from society could me.

“It’s being away from my children. It’s knowing that if I’m not out by a certain amount of time, my house is gonna get foreclosed on. It’s things of that nature…” he said. “It’s taking a toll on me. This is taking a toll on me.”

When asked if he’d spend the money he made from the millions of records he’s sold, X responded, “No, but I’ve been robbed for millions. You get crooked business managers, things of that nature.”

DMX is scheduled to be sentenced January 30 in an Arizona superior court.
